About-Face
Sometimes my reflection
looks happier than I do
Got seasonal depression
in the sunniest of weather
Wish it was not true
because it isn’t
Like something I bought
and really need to exchange
My face doesn’t look the same
when I can’t control the looks
The hormones do the talking,
I blame them all too often
but he tells me if I try
to sit in the sun a little longer
there might be a metamorphosis
An about-face could come my way
square in the light
when I let it.
